Space

The final frontier.

The universe outside our own, this tiny world has long fascinated the cinematic industry as well as the scientific pioneers of history.

By all odds, man should NOT have made it to the moon in 1969 because the technology feebly paled in comparison to simple computers we have developed since. But we did it.

And the small step for man left us craving for more leaps.

The beauty of space is unrivaled by earth’s treasures, and it seems to go on forever. Scientists conclude that since humanity cannot observe a threshold of the universe, it may go on forever, endless and edgeless. Its expanse is breathtaking and its diversity fascinating.

And I feel so small. So insignificant to the great vastness that is space.

And it’s a beautiful feeling.

Mistakes are so insignificant and hardships are thrust into a more humble perspective. The expanse of the universe reminds me of the wonders of the cosmos and more than that: I’m not alone. The world is filled with people clinging to the rock we call earth that is hurtling through space, spinning into the blackness. And we are not alone.

LIFE. LOVE. HAPPINESS.

Life is HARD.

Growing up and being and “adult” is one of the scariest things I’ve ever faced. Flying away to Neverland is becoming more and more appealing as the seconds tick by and I start to notice my life fluttering away into the air. But I’ve learned to live my life to the fullest because we only get one on this earth.

”We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we only have one.”

-Confucius

Love is HARD.

Love is something that, as humans, we all inherently feel. So why is it so difficult to find and grow? Love is as fleeting as a cool breeze and twice as unpredictable. I don’t pretend to know much about love or life, but I do know that one is unbearable without the other. To love and to be loved is one of the greatest treasures that life has to offer.

Happiness is HARD.

There is no formula, flowchart, or treasure map that leads to a giant red “X” that marks happiness. Though it seems to come hand-in-hand with success, fame, fortune, and other such general greatness, these material pleasures do not guarantee happiness bestowed on the recipient. Happiness is often something to be worked at. You must find reasons to be happy, and sometimes, there are not many.

So while you try to make it through this crazy existence we call “life”, don’t dwell on the small inadequacies that swirl around in your head and crush you. Learn to laugh, seek love, treasure happiness, and enjoy the ride. And learn to forgive yourself.
